
Albert A. Del Negro, MD FACC, FSCA&I
Dr. Del Negro help found Arrhythmia Associates soon in 1991. By that time, he had established himself as a prominent "thought leader" in clinical cardiac electrophysiology.
Dr. Del Negro completed his undergraduate work at Princeton University and then moved to Georgetown University where he completed the remainder of his medical training including medical school, residency, and cardiology fellowship. He trained under and later worked with Dr. Ross Fletcher, considered by many to be one of the forefathers of cardiac electrophysiology. After completing his training, Dr. Del Negro directed the pacemaker clinic at the Washington, DC Veterans Administration Hospital and later became director of the cardiac catheterization laboratory and chief of clinical cardiac electrophysiology at Georgetown University Hospital. He held the rank of Assistant Professor of Medicine at Georgetown University School of Medicine. Dr. Del Negro is the author of nearly 50 original papers and text book chapters in peer-reviewed publications as well as 25 clinical abstracts. He has been recognized numerous times as one of the "best doctors in Washington" in Washingtonian magazine. Dr. Del Negro is board certified in internal medicine, cardiology, and clinical cardiac electrophysiology. With Dr. Friehling, Dr. DelNegro is co-medical director of the INOVA Fairfax Atrial Fibrillation Center.
In addition to clinical medicine, Dr. Del Negro is an accomplished pianist and maintains a passion for sailing. He is also an accomplished long distance runner and has completed numerous races including the Marine Corps, New York City, and London marathons.
Dr. Del Negro is married with two children and resides in Washington DC.
